ANNA SIBYLLA is an Italian-Dutch visual artist with Asian roots, born in the South Tyrolean town of Merano and raised in Amsterdam.
Anna's creative roots lie in film and storytelling. After studying Film- & TV Sciences at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), she graduated in directing from the Italian national film school (Scuola Nazionale di Cinema / Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia) in Rome.

Is Anna Sibylla your real name?
Anna Sibylla is my artist name. However, my actual first name is also Anna, and my second name begins with the letter 'S'. That is all I like to share about it for now. And YES, I'm inspired by the life and work of 17th-century artist Maria Sibylla Merian, who studied the life of butterflies and the process of Metamorphosis.
