My photography work is an ongoing exploration of tenderness - how it resonates within us, how we express it, interact with it, embrace it, or long for it.

I believe that in today’s world, where so many things are out of whack and out of touch, tenderness has become an underappreciated, threadbare emotion. Yet to me, tenderness is like emotional glue, something that holds things together. And therefore it is precious.

Essentially, all my creative work is informed by and dedicated to tenderness. It is my antidote for living in this fractured and turbulent world.

Currently, my photographic universe is very small. Since recovering from chronic illness the past several years, my lens has been directed inwards - to the micro atmosphere of my home and my family. All photos are shot on location in and around my house and that of my family, who reside both in the Netherlands and in Italy. All photos are shot with natural, available light only.
